We stayed at a beautiful but remote cottage close to the Victorian Alps in 2017. The garden had been laid out by a research botanist and the house was full of her detailed sketches of native flora and fauna. One morning, Ann went for a walk and came rushing back saying there was something strange in the garden that had just disappeared, straight up the trunk of a large tree. We had seen drag marks in the loose soil around the garden but had no idea what had caused them until we went to investigate her sighting and saw this, holding on to a branch, halfway up the tree. He was between four and five feet long from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail and after that, we often caught glimpses of him strolling around the garden, looking like a dinosaur from a bygone age.

" You can eat em, but they taste like s%$&"

We were in the Caribbean some years ago and a couple mornings in a row a dog obviously with pups went down the beach to return a short time later with a 2-3 foot iguana for breakfast.
