SC Generator Question

It looks like someone tried to put a smaller generator pulley on my SC at one time, I'm assuming they were trying to bump up the output some at lower engine speeds. The problem is the belt doesn't line up right and with no key way in the pulley it slips.

Any idea where I can get just the pulley with out the rest of the generator?

I got a keyed pulley from an alternator/generator rebuild shop in my town. Ask your local NAPA or American Auto Parts guys where a big rebuild shop is close to you.

Alternators do not use a keyed pulley. They are a tight fit on the shaft and have a friction bite between the shaft flange and the outer washer when you torque down the nut. (Cheaper to make that way)

The only problem is I don't know what the diameter it should be, I thought it might be easier to find one off a junk tractor. I'll ask around about rebuilders, but I haven't seen any since I moved to the middle of nowhere.

I am parting out a 1950 Case SC at this time and went out and checked the generator. It still have the cut out on the gen,and the pulley. the diameter of the pulley is 3.600. It was probably considered a 31/2 in. I will part with the pulley or the complete generator. I have most other parts from this tractor. Thanks, John B.
Please list case or SC in the subject area if you email me.
