SC questions

Bought this 1950 SC just like the one I grew up on, super clean and complete, How ever I have two issues with it. First the belt pulley will creep if the gear shift is in neural but not when in gear at an idle ,when in N if you throttle up it speeds up I have messed with the pulley brake but I may be not doing right for this has not changed anything. Second the tractor we had when you pulled the gas up quick ( as I was prone to do } the engine opened right up an run ,this one if you open it up it wants fall on its face and you have back it off quick then ease it up slow, could this be the mag needs a little tweaking to adjust the timing? sorry for the long post

Could be you need a new lining on the pulley brake, the clutch may not lease completely.how's your transmission fluid? If it's thick and gooey that might need changed

Your other problem sounds like a carburetor that is too lean or needs cleaned. Try pulling the choke out see if that helps.

Pulley creep in neutral is normal, no load on clutch. If you pull the hand clutch tight and it stops everything is adjusted normal. Advise proper on jet adjust below but also check for dirt in carb and fuel line. An SC will start and run on a trickle of fuel but won't pull a load.
