You replied to my post about the 610 vs 903 carbs. I took your advice and looked into the distributor before changing the carb. I found a lot of old grease and the flyweights are rusty but do move. Don't know if they're working though. It's a Mallory, not the original Holley. How can I get the tach drive shaft out for cleaning? I can't break the plug or threaded end loose, even tried some heat but no go.
 

I don't think I've ever had one apart. I figure it wouldn't be much different than any other distributor though, push out a pin and pull the gear off the shaft with a puller.
