Seat for D series

About 95% done with a total restore on a beat up 19159 D14. I just disassembled the orignal seat, welded up the rust holes, new shock and bushings, good to go. Now that we have that done, i'm looking at a suspension seat thru Yesterday's that has some suspension built in to it. Has anyone put this on a D series ?
Looks like holes will need to be drilled in the base (no biggie), but it also has to clear the hydraulic fiting that is just left of the original seat. Thanks for any input.

Thanks for any input. *** Anything that doesn't use the original suspension (in GOOD condition) and original seat pan OR a D-15 deluxe cushion seat is a cobb-job. I'm just telling you the truth. All that add-on crap never works like the OEM. You've spent all this time and $$$$$$$ to "restore" it and now you want to cheap out on the seat ??? I will guarantee your old suspension needs to be rebuilt and get a new shock absorber, but in the end it will be $$$$ better spent.

No - i am not trying to cheapen the seat. I rebuilt it - welded cracks in the seat pan, new bushings/ through rods/shock. I had one of these suspension seats on a
john deere 10 years ago and it was pretty comfortable. The rest of the d14 is pretty stock. Paint, new gauges and some parts and this could pass for new from
showroom. I have no interest in cheapening anything on this rebuild, but as long as the original seat is in my possesion i would still consider one of these if it
didn't require permanent modifications to install.

If it's comfortable, fits, and works for your needs, I support it. I unfortunately do not have experience with this particular seat model, but I like the idea. If you end up going with it, I would be interested to know how it turns out.

The suspension shown on that seat will never ever match the performance of the original suspension, provided the old suspension ain't all worn out !! The cushions may be fine, but suspension will be POOOOR.

i used a replacement similiar to this one but three times the price and it looked like it was three times better made. It offered a spectacular ride on the john
deere compact original seat. This particular seat shows a 98.00 price tag. Hard for me to imagine it is worth the money for the ride it will offer.
I find it rare that an expensive tractor part of any kind offers super high performance. At least the original is back in very good shape. One seat pin had rust-
welded itself to the seat pan, but 45 minutes with a torch,lube, vise grips and pg rated words got it out. Biggest issue with the original was a serises of cracks
in the seat pan . Can't beat mig welders for that type of work.

I've got one on my Fiat built Oliver 1365 (AC 5045 or 5050). I like it better by far than the original pan seat that was on that tractor, BUT, the vinyl on it is super brittle when it's cold. Expect some cracks by spring.

Does the shock that comes with this thing work? the expensive one that i put on the deere compact was unreal good, but , it was over 300 bucks. I have completely restored the original seat, and shock, so i'm just looking for easy bolt on comfort for my big butt. At 98 bucks, i'm struggling to see quality here.

I don't think that one has a shock.

This one in the picture looks very much like what I bought 7 - 8 years ago and installed on a different brand mind you. I am very pleased with it and would buy it again. Where I installed it was previously a non-suspension application and this seat made a world of difference for my back. Mine has two good size springs coming down the back, which you can't see in the picture. If I remember right the tension is adjustable. I have the open cab but no cracks or damage to the vinyl after these years of good use.
On the D14 I don't know how well it would stay tilted forward if you wish it to be from from rain, it might still work.
