sediment bowl assembly

Putting a new sediment bowl assembly on a Massey-Ferguson 35. Google (source of all knowledge) says I can use a Teflon tape formulated for gas applications on the tapered thread where it screws into the gas tank. Is this advised, or is maybe no sealant needed?

I put Teflon tape on mine years ago with no problem since.

No reason you shouldn't use tape but if you assemble many plumbing fittings I highly recommend Teflon pipe dope. Not only does it seal better,it lubercate's threads making assembly easier.
