Sediment bowl

Ok so I am under the gun here Im getting married the 28th and want to get new tires on my tractor the 20th I have already paid for them so I can have them before I get married and have to have another opinion on buying stuff. I cleaned my gas tank and lined it and installed a new fuel line and all went smooth until I put gas into the tank and it started leaking out of the top of my glass bowl. I did not feel like messing with it so I ran to the parts store and bought a new sediment bowl assembly I installed it but now the gas only drips into the bowl the crazy thing I don't understand is of i remove the glass bowl the gas flows out perfect. Am I missing somthing or am I just an idiot?

Air isdtrapped in the bowl and until you remove the pressue it will be hard to fill. Just crack the line going to the carb until the bowl fills.

Start the engine, as gas is used by the engine the float in the carb will open and allow the air to flow through the carb.

Very simple. 2 things can not be in the same place at the same time. Your carb of full of gas so the float is shutting it off. So that means the air which is a sort of fluid can not go any where so that in turn means the gas can not come in because the air is there and as I said two things cannot be in the same place at the same time. Just like of you take a soda straw and put your finger over it and then push it in a glass of water the straw will not fill unless you remove your finger again because to things cannot be in the same place at the same time

"before I get married and have to have another opinion on buying stuff."

Buddy, if you are going into marriage like that, PLEASE take my advice and RUN while you still can.

(NO need to thank me, you would'a figured that out someday, anyhow.)

Only joking Bob shes a great girl to be honest she actually bought the tractor for me so we can have a garden and I need to have everything lined up to start when we get back from the honeymoon IF we have a garden in North Carolina I don't know if we made the right choice by getting a tractor or if we should have got a submarine by how wet it has been this past year or so. Thanks for yalls help aswell!

Hey I know the feeling bro! My wife helped
me buy my cub this winter. First thing she
ever bought me was a Remington 870
tactical. When they do that they are
usually great picks.

But anyway back on topic, could be that
you just need to crack a line or start the
engine either one like what everyone else
said. Or there could be a little piece of
trash where the fuel drains down into the
glass bowl. I have had that happen a few
times on both my h and cub.

Good luck on the wedding!!!!

thanks again guys I emptied the bowl this morning and put it back on and cracked the line to the carburetor turned the fuel on and it worked like a charm. I will have to post a picture of our tractor once I get the new tires on. I'm getting rid of the rediculous 14.9 turf tires it looks like a really short dragster right now the guy we bought it from used it with a woods mower

What kinda tractor ya got? I got turf
tires on my cub and looks good. Only
problem is they are wider than cleated
tires and my depth control lever rubs the
tire so I put a spacer in and now it rubs
the finder. Bahhhhh!!!!
