Well I just have one thing to say.....one just sleeps better when the job is done and a positive outcome is anticipated. As I mentioned elsewhere herein, I had very accommodating weather for my spring planting and I assure you it is easy to go to sleep. Glad you made it.

I wish we were that dry. To wet here for another couple weeks. Got rain coming for the next 3 days the a clear day then weather again.

I rented the farms out 5 yrs ago and just hobby farm a little bit. It's a lot less stress when your livelihood don't depend on it. If I get it planted in a timely manner that's fine. If i don't,, that's okay too.

Looks good! The little patch of oats I sowed a while back came up in the past few days. I was a little concerned that it would be too dry to get things going as here in central Kansas the ground is getting pretty dried out in the top few inches. There's decent moisture down below but not much up top.

I used to use an old spring tooth harrow with the tines turned almost up for smoothing like you are doing with that spike tooth. I noticed the other day that it has a four inch tree growing up through it now, LOL.

Looks like a 510 drill? Did you remount the seed box on the back of drill or did it come that way? I have a 510 with the fine seed box on the front and I hate it to the point I only use the drill for grain. Pain when you have to climb up on front of drill to fill and tubes that feed down and out the back are prone to clogging. Planting time here is probably still a month away. I have had years were we planted oats the second week in April but it is pretty rare.

It is a 510 I bought it used with the small seed box on the back. It looks like factory so you must have option to mount front or back.

I kept my large spring tooth but this piece is hardly big enough to unfold it and no way to get in corners.

I have these two old spike sections for dragging yard and driveway gravel. Teeth are worn down to about 2 inches but it worked fine for this.

Yes, they are a very good drill....but who designed that grass box up front obviously never tried to fill it while holding 50 pounds of seed in a bag!
