Select O Speed transmission light

I'm working on redoing the bad wiring on my ford 801, and was wondering about the transmission light that is supposed to be on the dash. The light was gone when I got the tractor, but there was a broken wire coming out of the transmission. How would I go about replacing this light? Or is it even neccessary to bother, does it really serve function?

I would say don't bother with it, as Ford stopped wiring them up in the late 1960s, I suspect because of too many people
questioning its operation and getting concerned when they shouldn't be. My 6000 has a functioning light and it blinks all the
time when the oil is hot and I'm shifting between certain gear ranges at lower RPM, or when I'm slipping the inching pedal.
This is completely normal and is not concerning to me at least.

I'm no expert on the SOS tractor, but I have one. The wire coming out of the transmission cover is for the park safety switch.
You should start the tractor in Park gear. When in Park, the safety switch provides a ground to the starter solenoid when you
press the start button. My understanding is that the wire for the transmission pressure light comes from the rear axle
somewhere. I can't find it or where it would come from on my 1959 SOS.
If someone knows where the wire for the pressure light is supposed to exit the cases I would appreciate some feed back.

The pressure light wire comes out the round plate on the left side right by the dipstick on my 1963 4000
