Serial Number For TO-20

I m trying to find information for my TO-20 my builders plate under the steering wheel is gone I would like to know where or how to find the date my tractor was made.There is a date on the inspection plate on top of the rearend housing under the operaters seat of April,7 1949 is this a casting date for the plate or build date for the rearend? I would like to get a builders plate and all the correct numbers for my tractor for I m planning to restore and use it. The numbers on the engine is Z-120A I know it s a Continintal engine,and the tractor was made in Detriot. Any help would be appreciated.

Any cast numbers is just that, that is the cast number that the foundry used to make sure they poured the correct part that was ordered, with the exception of certain cast number locations that can tell the date that part was poured which I believe was mostly done on the TE series of tractors. As far as getting another serial number plate that goes on top of dash the salvage yards are best bet, as no one makes reproduction TO s/n plates that I have heard of as yet. Since no significant changes were made on all the TO 20's they all use the same parts. Maybe someone else can help you a little more. Richard
