serial number tag

I have a case 430 diesel. Need parts that are serial number specific. But the serial number plate is gone is there another place on the tractor that it might be stamped in the steel.

Hoss,I think Case quit putting them there after the letter series. My 630 does not have the serial number stamped in the flange (or it has so many coats of paint it is hidden). Others on this forum say that the 30 seies tractors only have the tag. I would like to know my serial number as well because of the casting date on the engine and wheels I believe I have one of the first 630 models off the line. Of course the rear side panels with the tag were long gone when I got it.

My Racine 400 and 830 COM have it on the bell housing flange.

I could not find the number stamped but there is a cast number on the right side of the tourque tube could this tell me anything

That is just the part number of the torque tube. You will also find a number stamped on a machined boss on the right side of the engine. This is the engine serial, has nothing to do with the tractor serial number. If you look there are a lot of numbers cast into big parts and that is their part number.
