I got this tractor from a guy for 250 dollars. I had to put the whole thing together buy test fitting everything first. It runs great but I don't know what it really is like what year. I have been told its a Dexta it use to say Ford 2000 Diesel on the side and the serial number is 09B91829.

Hi
I think you need another number in the serial number. (Our June 1962 Super Dexta is 09B 715813)
With the prefix 09B (1962)the next number should be a 7 not a 9. If that number is a 9 then the prefix should be 09C (1963) or 09D (1964).

The engine number should tell if it is a Dexta or Super Dexta. It is stamped on the upper front left hand side of the motor block. Super Dextas began 1600251(April/62) and Dextas ~1400251(Nov/57) but by "62 would be 15xxxxx.
There are also casting codes on the major parts.
They were in the letter/number/number/letter format. (H13H)
The engine also has a casting code but in a different format. It is behind the back of the fuel pump to the right and below of the engine serial number.

Cheers,
Les

OK here's what I got I was a little off. 09C 918329 and ond the engine I see middle 57111310, lower right 2G7 then 1372N upper left 83. All numbers are the left side of the engine. Thanks for all your help.

By the information I have gathered (off other Dextas and the Internet) the serial number makes it built about 3rd week in July/63. By that date it should have had grey light grey fenders and rims.

The engine serial is stamped on a flat machined area just behind the water outlet on the block.

Just above the 57111310 number (Our S. Dexta's have 37111310) should be the engine date code (example>>> G163 for June 16, 1963)
