serial # suffix letters

Gentlemen,
I have a 1955 300 Utility with the letters S - J after the serial number and I have a 1966 806 with S-Y after her numbers.
Would appreciate if someone can tell me what the letters signify ?

This has been talked about a million times here. S means TA. Y means 12 gpm pump.All IH tractors use a letter code to describe options/componets.BTW,I have a 706 and 1256 that have the SY following the SN.

Likely, you can fine the same info for your 806 in the on-line version of the 806 catalog.
