Serious question ?

Local radio station has a web site with weather on it . I really like the radar they use , you can click on it to show it in motion . They have been down for at least 2 weeks . I haven't found any other site I like near as much . What is your favorite weather site ?
Speaking of it I'm hearing thunder rumbling closer all the time . We have anhydrous wagons strung all over to be able to run all nite .
I just checked Weather USA's map and it don't look to good again . The last 4 today have went South of us . We have just got a little shower 3 times and had to quit for a hour the 4th time . Phil has been running it since I got out at 7 this morning , I was hoping fer a nap today but I don't want cause of rain !

Forget where you are again.... Here in southen MN we got nothing to complain about good weather, was a little dry, but been getting 1-3 tenths, just had an inch over nite now so good to go.

But I'm a farmer, never quite right.... Rain predicted 6 of the next 7 days, how do I make hay (shoulda been done a week ago....) or spray? Sit & watch the weeds grow, the hay get overripe....

But we got it good, compared to some of you.



I use intellicast.com, they made it harder to get somewhere quick than it used to be, but click on the current radar, the section of USA you want, and animate, works for me.

I use one called weather bug right now, puts a little 1 1/2 screen on one side of the puter screen and you can click through windows on it of current temps, three day forcast and a radar screen, it also includes a screen of local weather cameras that you can change to different locations , any one of these can be enlarged to full screen for more in depth information.

I use weather.com. It also shows weather in motion and has a 10 day forecast on it. As with any weather guesser, it's right about 50% of the time.

I use wunderground.com but I have to be on Firefox with Adblock and image animation turned off. With IE there's too much advertising and flashing junk.

I like underground, but I like the radar better on Intellicast.

That's exactly what I use; Intellicast for radar & Weather Underground for my forecast. The Weather Channel's website has a pretty good radar that you can zoom and is a little more timely than Intellicast for tracking thunderstorms, etc.

I take weather quite seriously & use the National Weather Service site. crhDOTnoaaDOTgov will take you to their home page. Just enter your zip in the upper left hand corner. I"ve used the site for 6 or 7 years & have found them to be quite accurate. The forecasts are refreshed roughly every half hour & watches, warnings, etc. are available almost immediately after being posted. The F5 key on your keyboard will be your friend on this site. It refreshes the page & keeps you up to date. The radar is fairly accurate & they host a good many satellite images. I, in the persuit of perfection, have purchased a program that allows my computer to download the info directly from the radome. I don"t know of too many other radar programs that do the same &/or still remain as accurate. Just my $.02 - Mike

Larry, I like Intellicast for their radar, although they tend to "juice" it up a bit and show more precipitation than is actually falling, moreso in winter. The weather channel radar tends to be a bit under done. I look at both of them and then shoot for a combination.

I love wunderground.com. You can animate their local radar image, but the best part is if you click on the left of the image, you can select all kinds of different data. When storms roll through, I always turn it to show the estimated precipitation amounts (either by storm total or 1 hour running total) and it's pretty darn accurate. Once you set the radar image to animate, the page refreshes automatically every time there's a new image in the loop.

Yeah, it's worth pointing out that all these other sites are just using the data (and forecasts) from that site anyway.

I pay ten dollars a year for a membership in weather underground, and don't have to put up with any ads, and get a few other features. Membership is portable, so I can keep an eye on the weather from home or work. Watching another big boomer moving my way right now. (sigh)

www.weather.com has radar and cloud cover maps, zoomable, with loop play of recent images. Helps to figure out what's coming, where it's coming from, and how long it'll take to get here...

Well Larry, Its kinda like this --- I'm kinda a simple clunk, so I uses onea them there "Weather Rocks" --- Ya kno, the kind what is wet when its rainin, white when its snowin, casts a shadow when its sunny, etc! My back up system is NOAA!
