Thought you might like to see the progress made with my 1965 Ford 5000 Select a Speed .
It is seen running for the first time since being fitted with new pistons and the block bored to take liners.
The front axle has been rebuilt as has the transmission.
In the new year the rear axle will be stipped down for new brakes and the outer hub seals replacing.
only taken 4 years, still can't rush these things!

Here are some photos!
You may notice the strange air filter.....this was a temporary filter that i used so that i can fire her up and check that all was ok :)

Very good. Is rebuilding one of these a first for you?
It's alot of tractor, what are your plans for this, especially since it's now time to break it in? sl

Thanks for the reply.
Still more to do, the garage is a bit small to pull the back end apart so thinking of the options. One of the half shaft outer oil seals leaks badly due to baler twine being wrapped around it and scoring the metal where the seal sits, guess i will need to rebuild with weld or get metal sprayed by a professional to keep with the half shaft. Truthfully won't know till it is apart.
Future plans are to go ploughing and road runs.
Need to seek a local friendly farmer to go discing or cultivating to bed the engine in.
Will post again once more has been done.
