Sherman Step Up Value

I"ve taken the Sherman step up trans out of my 2N tractor. I"ve decided to sell it but no idea of the value. Any suggestions what it might be worth?

I think the consensus was around $150 in good working condition.

Thanks for all the replies. The main reason was the input shaft seal was leaking real bad, and I really have no need of it. I tried using the tractor in 1st high range and it"s just too fast for the field work I have. It seemed like 1st gear with the Sherman in high range was faster than 2nd direct. I would be willing to ship if I could find a shipping company in my area. I don"t know if UPS or Fed X will ship something like this.

I agree with Royse $150 Maybe $200 if in Good condition and caught up in some Ebay bidding. If it were a step down or combo that would be a different story.

FYI, one of the best ways I have found to ship heavy items- go to lowes and buy a large pastic rubbermaid container. pack it with your stuff (in this case the trans) and then when you install the lid, screw/bolt it on.

pop it on your bathroom scale to get the weight, measure it, hop onto ups.com and get a quote, ususally cheaper than the store

You should only use high in second to cover the blank space between second and third or in third for road travel. Never in low gear. I have both a 41 9N & 44 2N, Dad put it in the 2N as soon as avaible, the 9N would not have gotten bought if it did not have it. Second and second over most used gears with third and third over next. Low hardly ever used.
