Shift lever adjustment in 4020 PowerShift

Tractor is a 1966 4020 Diesel with PowerShift. The shift lever was rubbing against the dash slot in reverse, wearing the lever rod. See photo.

I adjusted using the turnbuckle. It's better, but even though it is now centered in the "neutral" horizontal slot, when I push it up into a reverse gear something forces it over against the dash again. Found it to be the nub shown in photo three. Is there a way to adjust that out of the way?

I dealt with similar issues on my 1965. It is really a stack up of worn parts.
As the parts wear, you adjust the directional linkage to compensate. It is getting pushed to the side by the detent in the valve body.
Install new pins and yokes in the linkage to start with. You most likely will need to rebuild (weld and grind) worn linkage and shifter parts.
