shifter on case 595

having a problem with the gear shifter on my
case 595.Tractor will shift easily between 1 and 2nd
or 3rd and 4th positions. But it is difficult to
get it to go between 1st and 3rd or 4th or
vise versa or 2nd and 3rd or 4th or vise versa.
Thus,it is not cross shifting. How do I fix this?
