Shifter

I am replacing the shifter on my Alis Chalmer CA got the old one out but can't get replacement lined uo its the part on the side of tractor with the forks any suggestions ?

Take the side plate off. Something is out of place on the side plate. Make sure the forks are snapped in the ident balls. Then line up the gears with the forks.

Was it in neutral when you pulled the shifter?

When you pull the side plate, the forks move the gears.

Detente is when they lock into place.

Thanks for you reply . I have tried at least 20 times and still not getting it to line up never one was to quit so I will keep at it

Fork for First and Fourth gear were worn to probably half the width had another CA I bought for parts and switched out shifter plate works fine now !
