Shim thickness for relief valve

Does anyone know what thickness the shims are for the relief valve on the hydraulic pump for a 630 tractor? Or where I could find some shims? Thanks

I cannot help you with your question, but, when I was working on the hydraulic pump on a 411, I found two quarters in the relief valve bore. Whatever works I guess. gobble

When we need more hyd. pressure, the 1st thing that comes to mind is to shim the relief valve. However, on an almost 60 year old pump, the question is, is the pump in good enough condition to still build enough pressure to lift the relief valve off the seat?

That is a good point John, I am hesitant to disassemble the pump and inspect it because the 08377AB o-rings aren't available from CNH anymore. Do you have these o rings for the old style pump? Thanks

Yes John, on an old pump that is often the case. However adding max shims to the relief valve will determine if it is the pump or a weak relief. If the pressure come up, adjust the number of shims for specs pressure, otherwise time to look for a different pump.

I get very frustrated when I hear customers tell us their local dealer said something was not available anymore, when it is. The O rings are available and we stock them. Also the big cover gasket.

We were told many years ago by an old case dealer to use a dime it's the right diameter but only add one at a time too much pressure and the pump will split open! You Don't have to ask how I know this!!
