Short Frame Unstyled "B" ?

I know a Guy that claims to have an original unrestored condition unstyled "B" with the short frame. This tractor is for sale but he is asked a boatload of money for it. It runs and is a complete tractor. Paint is gone and everything has a rust patinia on it. He says it is on steel front and rear, and that they only made a small run of these prior to lenghtening the frames.

He also us an '37 A that is complete running and restored. On rubber all around with round spoke rears.

What are these worth???

Thanks

Short frame B was manufactured until serial number 42199 Long frame was 42200 to 59999 Less long frame than short. Unrestored unstyled B with steel would probably be about $3000 He is blowing smoke up your ....

Will

get the serial # and we'll run it .. it could be a BN which they did
only make a small amount also a steel front wheel is very hard to
come by which will give him a little more bargaining power the
tractor is only worth what you want to pay for it if its what you want
then buy it it doesn't matter what anybody tells you its just our
opinions but get the serial number and we can see what the tractor
really is

I sold my completely and correctly restored '36 A on round spoke front and rears for $5500 a few yrs ago... may not be able to get that now with the economy being what it is.
The B COULD be rare, if its one of several different configurations that WERE limited production, eg, BWH, BNH, etc... but a run of the mill, tricycle unstyled B that is UNRESTORED is a pig in a poke and ain't worth a great deal. Depending on SEVERAL variables, it could be anywhere from $800 to $2500 or so. It costs a lot to properly restore one as the prices on all of the available parts and gaskets have skyrocketed over the last few yrs.

just bought this one for $775

I sold a 36 short frame B this spring at an auction. Tractor was complete but the motor was stuck, 1 factory round spoke rear, 1 cut off flat badly rusted cut off fronts great hood and good rad tires were gone. It only brought $600. I listed with the auction early so it made the sale bill and there were 6 other 2 cylinders in verious condition at the sale. A restored 52 A brought the most at $2200. Guy said he had $4000 in it. Things cost alot more to fix than they are worth anymore. It better mean something to you or its just not worth it.
