Shutoff valve for air compressor?

Who makes a shutoff valve for air compressors? I'm tired of the air leaking from air compressor, so I turn compressor off when not in use. When I need air, I have to wait for compressor to fill tank. What valve do use?

I have a standard 3/4" ball (gas) valve on the outlet pipe from the compressor, shuts down all the air drops but leaves the tank charged at full pressure.

I was thinking ball valve. How do you tell the good ones that will withstand the pressure?
Thanks
George

Most ball valves sold at hardware, lowes/HD etc are marked for WOG service (water oil gas). I use 1/4 turn 1/2"pipe thread brass valves with a stainless ball. Just completed a run of copper 30' across the the shop, two 'side branches, 3 7'drops to a hose reel on each side. Valve at the tank and one at each drop.

Thanks for all the replies. Ordered it from Amazon. Should have it by Friday. I feel shopping on line is safer for an old person like me.

I don't get why my mind feels younger than my body.

I've used a standard 200+ PSI rated 90 degree ball valve 3/4 inch works great no leaks. I use Teflon thread tape or the liquid pipe dope. Available at most all real HDWE stores.

When I added onto my garage/shop, the two places that I would be using compressed air would be almost 60' apart, so I put a solenoid at the output of my compressor, so I could turn the air on from both areas.

Helped a friend set up his new shop many years ago.

To safeguard against forgetting to turn the compressor off, we powered the starter from the lighting circuit.

2 inch 1/4 turn valve at the tank, and I have a 1/2 inch one on the water drain with a 12 inch long pipe on it. The water will settle in the pipe and not in the bottom of the tank, crack the valve and the water is gone.

Worked in a shop where we had a solenoid valve on the compressor hooked to the main light switch. Had a waste oil furnace that needed air to run so couldn?t shut compressor off totally. Furnace had a separate air line. Light switch would kill all but one light fixture.

I just use 1/4 turn ball valves. have eleven of them in the system. also the main control switch to the compressor is light switch that go by when close shop for night. turn the small light off and air same time. I also rigged up switch so the unit would not start up under pressure if it was running when you happen to close shop for the night.

George, Please email when you get a chance. My email is open. I use a full port 1/4 turn ball valve at the compresser to shut air off.Thanks.

3/4 inch ball valve and a 3/4 inch 3000 lb hydraulic hose between compressor and manifold on wall.

I did similar, and mounted the compressor on hockey pucks from the sporting good store. They act as a nice vibration dampener.
