Shuttle Transmission Problem

I recently purchased a Ford 545D loader and have been plowing snow with it a couple of times. Today while driving it the 8x8 shuttle tranny cuts out and tractor stops moving. All I have to do is press the pedal to the dump valve and release it then it will move. This happened quite a few times today both forward and reverse directions and in more than one gear. Anything that I should check first for the problem?

I'm not familiar with the torque setup on those tractors so I can only offer general sugestions. Look in your ops manual for more detailed info.... but I'd start by checking to see if there is a separate level plug and oil supply for the torque converter. I'd suspect that there is. Check the level. Also check for mention of a filter.
Beyond that this sounds like a case of crap moving around and holding a vlave off it's seat. Possibly the dump valve.... and the oil pressure is getting dumped, hence no movement. It might well be time to change that oil...
The 8x8 I can help you with; not the torque tho :-(
