silo camera is in!

Using a surface drive unloader, it is hard to know for sure if it is stuck or what is going on up there. For very little money I put a camera up on the hoist and a little 90$ flatscreen in the silo room. Now I can see if it is stuck and just raise it up a bit so it will go again and I can always stop it right where I want it to! To bad we did not have this before! (lots of trips up the ladder....)

Good thinking. At first I thought it was a web cam and that i could log onto a site and watch your silage come out.

dont need a used Silo-Matic silo unloader do you?

mine has sat unused for 7 years and is in good shape.

I'm with Gene and was looking for a webcam. I could sit and watch you work all day. Good idea though. Silo might be a good location for a webcam. You can look out for a long ways with it. Keep an eye on the farm.

Here is a picture inside mine looking up!

what size is it? I am always looking for silage eq. of some type. For some reason I still feed beef cattle and just built another stave silo. I grew up milking cows so I guess it is just in the blood....

what brand is it? Some of them are getting hard to get parts for. 16x40 too, that is not a really tall one for a 16'?

We had ampmeters on all our unloaders. These were mounted in a cabnet next to the chute by the winch. Each had it's own redline that you didn't challenge. I don't ever remember changing a motor that failed due to overload or belts that were burned up due to a stall out. Changed a few motors due to bearing failures and belts that were just plain wore out though.
