If the specs are the same for both oils, I don't see why not. My first question though would be; why?
No IH FARMALL Hy-Tran Oil avail. not avail. any where close to me. Reading other post thy say IH Farmall used straight 30 Sae motor oil from factory back the in 1950's. ???Anothr reason and I hav an abundance of Kubota Oil as I hav 4 Kubota tractors on the Farm.

Can I use Kubota Hydrostat transmission and Power Steering Fluid in my Farmall 1952 Cub TRACTOR INSTeAD OF HY-TRAN Farmall Cub Hydraulic Oil.??????
There are far cheaper options available than a Kubota name brand product or the Hy-Tran oil.

For example, go to the Tractor Supply store right there in Walkertown and buy either their Traveler brand hydraulic oil for $49 for 5 gallons or their Traveler brand Trans/Hydraulic fluid for $64 for 5 gallons. Either of those would be fine for your 1952 Cub. They also sell in smaller containers than 5 gallons.

Yes, you can use it. There is nothing in the Farmall Cub hydraulic system that needs anything that Hy-Tran specifically offers. It is a simple gear pump system, no sensitive wet clutches or hydrostatic transmission components to worry about.

As stated, the original Cub used non-detergent engine oil with an additive. IH soon offered Touch Control Fluid with the additive already incorporated.

Cub only uses 6 PINTS of oil. Cost of using Kubota oil vs. generic oil is a few dollars at most. Plus no need to have another 5 gallon jug around to trip over.

I'm sorry, totally glazed over the "1952" part of your post. Others gave you a better answer.

Back when the AC B & C had the hydraulic system incorporated with the rear end, they had you using the same oil in the engine, air cleaner, and rear end. Typically 30 in the summer, 20 in the winter. Usually a sufficient amount of clean oil is more important than the kind of oil. I buy my oil from a petroleum distributor. I'm not going to play that game of having CaseIH, JD, NH, Agco, Navistar, Cummins, GM, Nissan, etc. etc. oils around.
