simple, effective GPS units for tractor

Raven Cruzer is around $1500. Neighbors have one, and the like it.

I run a Outback S3. It was more money, but it has about 4 times the screen and bigger screens are easier for me to see.

For a simple light bar which is all you need for spraiying and spreading and most field work. its tough to go wrong with an outback s-lite. very simpl to use and about 700-800 bucks. i use one for spreading spraying and seeding and it works great for my operation. its not autosteer compatible though. Its also easy to switch from one machine to another.

I've never used the JD system that just went back into the 7250, but the NH systems in the 4840 and other 7250 are pretty good. I found that setting the light bar to show a little farther ahead of the tractor (7 or 8 seconds versus the 1 second default) helps get back on the next line better.

The 7240 on the sprayer has an Outback system (the 4840s both had an outback system at one time, too) that steers the tractor through a electrohydraulic valve that mounts to the frame rail rather than having a motor turn the steering wheel. But I think that's getting really expensive.
