Sleeve kit help

Hello just wondering if i could install a .040 sleve in a motor that has .083 pistons in it. Would the sleeves be too small and drop through or would they be snug. Thanks

If it was run with those pistons, the next step is to bore it for .090 sleeves.

Do the math. The OD of the sleeve is .080 larger than a stock piston. Your piston is .083 larger than a stock piston. So your pistons are .003 larger than the sleeves and that is before any wear. You can get .005 over sleeves but I wouldn't bet on that working.
