When I removed #2 liner I saw rust. After cleaning the area I revealed a 4" long crack! Now what? I guess I now have a parts 8n.

Polish any rust and debris out of the
bore and slathered it and the new sleeve
up with the appropriate Loctite product
and move on.

I am a purist. If that block is torn down on the bench I would trash it and replace it with a good used block - preferably with thick wall sleeves and and the higher flow oil pump.

After further cleaning the #2 block hole I see a large oval crack. Seems like it's ready to fall into the water jacket. Kinda unexpected problem. Ya, its junk. It has been a good project and I learned alot. Thanks for all your help TOH.
