Long story short, My lil brother blew up my parents areins snowblower.

it has a tec LH318sa Engine. I found one and ordered it,

The only problem, is the original has a 1" crank and the new one has a 3/4" crank. Both are keyed and tapped

Now, theres a triple pulley keyed sheave setup (for the blower) that fits the 1" crank.

Can I somehow sleeve the 3/4" crank, but retain the keyway?

the pulley/sheave, looks sorts like this http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/m/mKEDqZ-wWTK5YVu0GAk5rwQ/140.jpg

Look at some of the tractor stores or hardware stores for a 3/4 pully. If you can find 1 it is a lot less worry.Good Luck..........

I made a repair as you describe. Found a bushing with the correct ID and OD then split the bushing to the width of the keyway. Made a key to fill up the key slot and it works fine. Been running on the crank of a Cub Cadet for 4 years.

Air Cooled Engines in Menominee Mi used to sell the exact thing you are looking for. They were made by Browning. You could check McMaster-Carr and see what they have.
