Smta air cleaner

Will any other model Farmall tractor air cleaner fit a SMTA or is a SMTA air cleaner unique to that tractor only? Recently purchased a SMTA with the top pipe smashed and thought I'd replace the whole air cleaner. I found found out that a SM air cleaner is not compatible.

For a gas, distillate or kerosene on a standard chassis tractor the SM and SMTA used the same one. Real late M did also. Lot of M ones will work but have a smaller outlet and pipe until just before joining carburetor than the supers.

Unless it is mashed and bent side ways. I would work a rod or pipe through from the bottom and then work a bigger on through till I got to close to the size of the inside diameter then tap the sides from the outside of the pipe till it rounded up with the creases out of it and then paint it. I would guess I could make it look almost like it did before it got mashed. When done you would have to really look to see the damage on it. IF it is being straightened up use a wood 2x4 to knock the dents out till you get almost done then with a light hammer tap the crease out on each side then finish with the wood for final with time being spent on keeping it round with a pipe or shaft very close to the inside diameter it will not show to see unless you look real close for it. I straighten things like this all the time with this type of method even use large wood posts with the end suspended on a block to hold it up while in the process. Hammers will make dings that willl be terrible to get out and cover. Wood will not do that. striking it with the flat of a board or 2x4 helps with preventing the dings.
