snow chains

(quoted from post at 15:51:27 01/15/12) the chains i brought for the 8n are rubbing on new fender. what mod do you guys recommend

When I purchased my '52 8N it came with Arps half tracks. The half track kit includes 'S' shaped brackets that moved the fenders both inward & upward to clear potential interferrence with the tracks.

One thing you will want to check when moving the right fender inwards is to confirm that the fender does not interfere with the 3 point lift leveling adjustment hand crank rotation.

Speaking of tire chains and plowing, how well does a 9n do (with chains and beet juice tires) on pavement with a back blade (in the front facing position) and the blade angled to plow snow to the pavement edge while running forward? I plan to mount some steel "shoes" behind the blade to keep the cutting edge a half inch off the pavement surface.

On my Ferguson I just cut four pcs. of pipe 1 1/2 long and got four new bolts and raised the fender up and the chains cleared then.
