I have a 1975 Ford 3600 with a 3 cyl. gas engine with about 38 hp. at 540 rpm. I have a 5 foot snowblower. when I use the blower it tends to throw the snow just a short distance even if light snow. It also plugs easily. Tried the blower on a friends smaller MF. worked fine on his. Anybody had any experience with this problem or ideas what to do??? Thanks...

Can't help you much as I've never used a snowblower. Is the blower a single ot dual stage blower? What tranny and clutch do you have on that tractor? Most common was 8 Spd/w lpto.
Are you sure the pto is working properly? Could it be a weak pto clutch that is slipping?

Is the shaft turning? That would be the only relevant question in my mind if it works OK on another tractor. If the shaft is not turning under load it's most likely a worn out PTO clutch...

Yes 8 speed tranny. pto shaft turning fine. Shaft turns ok even when blower can't keep up with snow and starts to push snow..

What RPM are you running the engine at? It should throw snow like crazy with that tractor until it is wet and sloppy, but evne then should work.
