So mad at myself

Put a new van guard moter in my little JD skidder. Instead of moving the remote switch to the operators seat area, I wired it to the original JD switch. When I tried starting it, it would not start. Got gas? check. Got spark at the plug? very week, almost non exsitant. Called both Briggs dealers in Mankato and both had the same answer. Must have put 12 volts to the coils and burned them out. Traced wires from switch and sure enough. Can't expect warranty to cover my mistake so bite the bullet and order new coils. $45.00 each plus shipping. Education costs money weather you get it in trade school or the school of hard knocks. bummer.

You are not the only one.. I have done it too, although I did it two times!, burned out the coil on two different engines, (Briggs) one would think I would of learned the first time, but old age is a bummer.
