The starter solenoid when i engage shift lever in S start gear it stopped working for 2 or more weeks thinking i needed a new one but today i mistakenly hit the S gear and works perfectly. I had bin using a screw driver on the two post to get her to start but maybe the cable connectings needed to be cleaned? Lesson # one clean all electrical mating places before assuming it's junk.

you may need to adjust the switch. it moves forward and backwards after loosening the screws then retighten. also my te20 shifter has a position over to the right that moves forward but does not engage the switch. sometimes i forget then find i moved it too far over to the right.

Some of these safety switches can be taken apart and you can clean the contacts, as they do burn over a period of time. If you slacken off the 4 screws that hold the switch to the top of the Clutch housing you can get a bit more contact in the switch. If you remove the Switch you can elongate the mounting holes slightly and get even more adjustment....John
