I have been wondering the same thing. The individual lugs on the rice tires have twice the inside reinforcement that normal tires have, they should really be stiff and not fold over under a hard pull. You wouldn't have to cut them down as much as a normal bias tire.
 
Could anyone enlighten me regarding the wide-front Super 88? Thought at first that decal said "Diesel", but actually think that it says "Special." Engine looks different than anything I have seen in an 88... Thanks!
 

Ya I would also like to know what "special"means , my 1956 super 88 has an inboard oil bath air cleaner unless they were changed over the years ?
