Yes, you can create links with this new forum.
Click orange circle
Paste url (website address) in blue circle
Type link name in green circle
Hit Insert button in red circle
Helps if you make the link name BOLD after doing the insert stuff above (but don't have to) by highlighting the link name then clicking the big B in upper left of text box.
Done
And here is the link for the website you posted: Disc Manual

I fixed it, Paul's link is to the competion so this YT site changes the host name to "external-link.com"I just tried posting that link and it wouldn't come up as a live link.
When I click your link I get this.

Yes you can do links here, but not links to those YT and Parts ASAP see as competitors to their business, as yours is.We must have lost a lot of experienced members if it’s this difficult getting info on a John Deere series J, probably JB disk.
Get a manual for it if you have trouble fine tuning the setup from here.
$20.
(If we can do links in this format…..)
I didn't have a problem opening the link you posted, but I want to clarify where your link goes. JD has at least three different websites where parts and manuals are involved.I fixed it, Paul's link is to the competion so this YT site changes the host name to "external-link.com"
The link in my post now will get you to JDParts.
Oh trust me I will never forget to take that picture!!! lolNow next time before you take anything apart snap a picture of it with your phone. I know it seems like the whimpy way out but I do it all the time. People are impressed with how good of mechanic I appear to be.
There is a what they call a John Deere orchard disc listed on marketplace in Virginia that has pictures and it looks like yours with the rear gangs connecte4d to the front ones like the folks are telling you. You might want to check market place out and see them,There is something clearly wrong with the rear disc setup, but for the life of me I don't know what it is. Any help would be appreciated. Any chance you have a link? There is a what they call a John Deere orchard disc listed on marketplace in Virginia that has pictures and it looks like yours with the rear gangs connecte4d to the front ones like the folks are telling you. You might want to check market place out and see them,
I found one similar to yours but does not look the same to me as to how the rear gang angling bars attach to the front gang frames.Any chance you have a link?
Yup just different enough to be differentI found one similar to yours but does not look the same to me as to how the rear gang angling bars attach to the front gang frames.
Orchard Harrow in VA.
Did you go to the JD bookstore and download a FREE copy of the JD Manual as suggested? It has info on where the rear angling bars belong and adjusting them. The publication number is OMW44. As well as searching using JB as the model number, you can search by the publication number just change the search from Model # to Part # / Keyword and enter the publication number in the search box. It should come up at the top of the list. That site doesn't let one make a link direct to the manuals, you have to do the search.
But close enough to see how it needs to be configured to work properly.Yup just different enough to be different
Have you tried putting weight on it.There is something clearly wrong with the rear disc setup, but for the life of me I don't know what it is. Any help would be appreciated. View attachment 5076
Rear gangs should pull the dirt in.I'm sorry I don't understand
