I made scoops out of gallon cans- Thompson wood seal- instead of throwing them away. Pretty handy around the garden. Easy to cut out using a hand grinder and abrasive wheel.

Good idea! I take those empty gallon cans and use a wheel in a die grinder to cut out one side, leaving enough lip to bend over so the hole isn't sharp. They're handy for storing nuts, bolts, other small stuff, and they don't fall apart like cardboard boxes if they sit on a damp floor.
