sos conversion

I'm wondering on the pre 65 tractors with the sos what tractor transmissions can be swapped to a regular manual? and when you do the swap do you need to swap out the rear end as well since the pto engagment is Levar on the manual and cable on the sos

The 4 and 5 speeds can both be swapped.
Make sure you get the flywheel, too. The
PTO lever is on the transmission case, so
you're good, there. Rear end can stay -
they use the same final drive ratio. Just
have to make sure you get one from the
right years... the brake cross shaft
changed location somewhere in there.

That is a very good video with information on the parts you will need to complete the swap. I switched a model 871 to a 5 speed. His video was the guide I used to make certain I had the correct parts before I started.

I did not watch the videos mentioned below.
Wondering though, did they mention the
block plate is a different thickness
between the X00s and the X01s?
How about the different spline count
on the pinion coupler on them? Did they go
into how to fix that?
