SOS release lever needed

I have given up trying to find the missing rear end release lever that once was bolted to my 63 2000 SOS. It was on there the last time I moved it around, would have sworn I put it back on with the nut to hold it in place, but now both the lever and the nut are MIA. So I must now make an appeal to the board for somebody to have pity on me and allow me to purchase a spare from whomever has one that they can part with. I am tired of seeing that tractor sit waiting for me to get it running again but since I know this lever is missing it is one of those little annoyances in life that will not go away until the situation is rectified. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to add the Ford p/n is 312368. Google says the interwebs do not recognize that as anything close to what I need.

It popped into my mind as I was falling asleep that the correct name for this lever is the traction disconnect. I suppose I will have to go junkyarding and spend more on diesel fuel looking for one than I will for the part itself. But I could use a good junkyard fix, has been a while.

Thanks for that - I had forgotten about that site and didn't have it bookmarked.

Unfortunately the list they show is everything but the traction disconnect. I run into the same issue all the time searching for esoteric parts online for my job - p/n's return alot of not what you are looking for more often than not. Got to love the internet. I drug up a couple of threads on this site from 2002 searching for this.

Just east of Raleigh - the next boom area. Between the Neuse/540/87/Business 64. All the land I grew up farming on has been planted in houses and interstates now. Such is the fate of played out land that was only good for growing tobacco located close to a major metropolitan area. The land gets rezoned (without warning, because they can) and the taxes skyrocket and then all one can do is sell out to the highest bidder or eventually lose it to the tax lien.

I tried the metal detector route - the guy who originally owned the house had a Volkswagon repair business in the 70s and 80s so the whole backyard is littered with buried German metal that is corroded beyond recognition. Looked like a gopher colony where the tractor had been sitting by the time we gave up. I suspect it fell off the tractor at some point and got raked up and hauled off without me realizing it. Huge oak trees drop alot of leaves and I have been known to rake leaves in the dark just to shut up the noise from inside the house about said leaves piling up.

I lucked out and bought 2 trans a while back, one being a factory rebuild still in plastic, but neither one had the disconnect with it. As I recall the disconnect is actually on the rear end casing, not the transmission section. And of course it is unique to the SOS. Thanks for the suggestion, I will keep it in mind.

I saw your handle, and immediately felt for ya. Going through the exact same thing in Georgia, but unlike your situation, there is a face to our adversary.

Living all my life in rural middle Georgia, we were surrounded by at least 200 acres of forest, comfortable and content in our life of privacy. Then the owner of the land across the street, was thrown in a nursing home, and allowed someone to talk him out of his farm. Two weeks later, the 100 acre lot behind us went on the market, and sold.

In the course of a few months, we went from living in rural georgia to living in a suburb, completely surrounded. Privacy is now a joke.
