Hey guys I am wondering will the transmission out of a 841 power master swap in to a 971 with the sos? If so what all will I need from the 841 to swap it over?

Yes, it will swap. Shaun's response implies that by listing the parts from the 4 speed tractor that will need to be swapped to the S-O-S tractor in addition to the transmission itself.

On other issue is the 971 is going have a fine splined output shaft the 841 trans may be coarse or fine depending on the serial #. If trans is coarse the easiest fix is to cut the the connectors in half and weld the coarse and fine together. I had a tractor that had been way and it never gave any problem. I also have disassembled two four speeds and and swapped the output shaft. On a five speed all you do is grab the output shaft stub pull it out and slide in the one that you need.
