Source for front tire square head bolts needed

Can anyone recommend a site where I can purchase square head bolts to replace the 1/2" x 3" fine thread cap screws on my 1950 H model front tires?

Well a real nut and bolt supplier and i can not speak for other Case I H dealers but the one in my back yard stocked them before they sold to one of them big conglomerates then sold again . The last org warm body there told me that there has been a lot of stuff tossed into the dumpster .

Guess one could make some for them self! Take a chunk of square stock the size of the head of the bolt then turn it down to 1/2 inch except for the head and run a die over the end. Or find a longer 1/2 inch square head bolt and cut off the threaded part and run a die for the fine threads over it.

Has anyone looked on McMaster Carr? they might have them.
Not fine thread but they have some long enough to cut off the course thread to make them fine thread.

has them in 13 TPI. Farmall H, M, AM and AW7 tractors used 1/2" BSW bolts at 12 TPI in Australia. Assuming the front wheel clamp assembly is the same, coarse thread works in place of fine.

McMaster has no fine thread square head screws. Plenty of coarse thread, including grade 8.

Raw hardware is not accepted at the Depot without a PN from a manufacturer they supply parts for/from.

I just checked my Farmall H Parts Catalog. Front wheel clamp was 48976DA. The bolt shown in the book is listed:
Machine Bolt, 1/2 x 2-3/4 N.C.
Hex. Nut, 1/2" N.C.
I can't find an IH reference to a fine thread bolt on those wheels for Farmall H, M, AM, AW7 or AMD.

Looks like they used both coarse and fine thread. Serial 254259 up called for bolt 351510R1 2-3/4 long. but think they have mix-up in parts books. Lists 351510 as coarse thread and nut listed as fine thread. 351510R1 was listed to use for 2-3/4 coarse thread bolts used on a lot of H wheels with 3 separate rim clamps.

Don't ask me ????? Back when the Org. owner ran the place they had what ya needed as they knew what the people around here had and ran. And around here it was small dairy or tater farms and even now though the small dairy operations are all gone and no more taters grown the small 160 to 320 acres are still pluggen away with old iron that is paid for and still earns it 's keep. and we are talking old M's ,400's 450's 560's , o 06 series 56, 66,86, and the newer tractors started thinning . Same went with the John Deere line , the Case line up started dying out way back Fords never broke into the bigger Hp tractors much Oliver had a decent foot print , M M the one dealer really tried to get them out but they never really took hold . At one time i don't care what color ya owned you were never more then like 12 miles from any color dealer and some times closer . I went down two years ago to see if Mickie had the lift rod for the cub Cadet snow blade and he said that he thought they did as they use to stock them while his family owned the dealership . He said they were down back in the one shed where they kept stuff not called for everyday or week and when he had a moment he would go down and look . He called me and said he was shocked that the new company that had bought the dealership had cleaned everything out and SCRAPPED it . He is now just and employee and has no say . He just a partsperson now and the ONLY one who knows anything on how to track down updated part numbers on stuff that replaces stuff that is no longer listed on the old number and has never been superseded on the computer system but ya DIG back in the OLD BOOKS where hand written note lay as that was a COMMON pratice in days gone by . I did that when i ran a Chrysler Plymouth parts dept when ya ordered in a part by the org number and when it arrived the number change was on the invoice and shipping order and you went to the parts book and wrote it in by hand . These take overs look at left over stuff and trash it and write it off as LOSS on the taxes and the scrap yards look at as WEIGHT BY THE TON. They don't care if it is a brand newold part someone is looking for . . Back in the 70's a small Dodge dealership that had been in the business since the late 20' s still had org parts on the shelfs going that far back and old Dodge car Buff would call Joe and he would dig thru the OLD BOOKS then the old card files system and see if it was on stock . Some of the dust and dirt in that parts dept. dated back to opening day . Me i stocked back 12 years on fast moving and vary fast moving parts. What non of the OLD I H dealers around here did was try and sell or stock combine parts . Deere and A/C is what ya saw and some Massey's, the one Massey dealer was working hard on Combine sales He sold a hand full of 300's a few 410's and like 3 510's and when the new line up came out a few 540's and 550's . Nothing larger were sold around here due to farm size. .Then the farm crises hit and he started to faid away as Massey tractors were having issues and ya know how that goes . My one dairy farmer friend went and bought a new 180 Massey not big power but larger then his 560 Farmall by a few pony's It came with a new set of four bottom steerables better then his four bottom fast hitch bring his family farm up to a four tractor farm as they had the Farmall H , the 560 and a 530 Case and ran a 53-56 head dairy operation stanchion barn . He was so proud of that 180 that we all had to go see it . That joy lasted about four hours under the plow when it went down , back to the dealer came back in four days hooked back up and made it a half day when it dropped kicked him again and back to the dealer ,Now way behind on his spring plowing We all took turns of going up to his place and helping with the plowing , hje still had the 560 going till it blew a head gskt and it was down . Myself and my one friend took our two 450 D's up with our four bottoms and plowed three long days while the I H dealer fixed the 560 and got it back and he put that on the disc and his day was planting with the 530 The Massey was down for three weeks only to come back and stat mowing hay that lasted two days and went down again . SO like all farming communities Bad NEW tractor that will not stay working leaves a bad taste in farmers mouth's . And several other new Massey's went down and with only two guys in service at peak season people shy away and the down fall is fast coming .
