Any of you folks on here from down in the southeast? Is this weather busting the drought? Seems like you've had an awful run of unfriendly weather years. I assume short term you're OK, what about reservoirs, etc?

Resevoirs full, including The one for Atlanta, GA they they were worried about. Rainfall total abouve normal mere in SC. Have received close to 3 inches today with more coming.

Did the water level actually start coming back during this wet summer, or did it happen this fall? Sounds like the other extreme now. As I said- unfriendly weather.

If you are referring to the Atlanta lake, Lake Lanier, I think, I first heard a couple of months ago it was full. Lakes on the Savannah River which forms most of the border between SC and NC were almost full when we crossed it going to the Moultrie, Ga Farm expo in October.

Bob, We have had an extremley wet year here in North Alabama this year.I don't have the exact figures but the rainfall amount is several inches above normal.Last year we wound up about 12" short for the year. The rainfall amounts have been short for the past several years here. But this year we have been well blessed with the wet stuff. We only had one dry period here in June. The farmers have had trouble getting in the feilds this fall and most still have soybeans to harvest. The corn and cotton crops for the most part have already been harvested. All the hay guys had bumper crops and have excess hay this year.We have not had many rain free weeks at all this year.

I guess too much rain is better than the alternative of drought, in the long run at least. Glad to hear the folks in Georgia got caught up. We saw on the news how they were suffering before. Here in Texas, just south of Dallas, it's been crazy. Dry summer and not much hay to be made. The rains started about the 10th of September, we had about 13-15" for that month, 14" for October, then a little break in November. With shorter and cooler days it's pretty much been wet ever since September. Looks like still a shortage of hay for many, due to not being able to get in the fields. Had to mow a lot of Johson Grass Hay down that turned brown and lost leaves. Right now we're probably around 55" for the year, normals in the mid 30" range. Had a couple of inches since the weekend and actually looking at snow chances tomorrow. You folks up north can come get this cold weather if you'd like, we ain't used to it down here.
God Bless All, Keep Christ in Christmas!

I'm in Southeastern NC and we are doing pretty good right now as far as rain goes. It's wet everywhere, but our wheat is looking good. 2 years ago we were planting in flour.
