Spark Plug Extractor

I decided to check the spark plugs on an 8N that I have been working on and guess what happened. On the last plug I had to get tough and broke it off in the head. Now how am I going to get the broke piece out and will I have to remove the head. Please tell me the secret

I have removed MANY broken-off sparkplugs by heating the remains red-hot with an oxy-accet torch.

Allow to cool to ambient, and repeat.

When cool the remains will likely come out with a screw extractor turned by your fingers.

Wear eye and face protection and keep your face back, 'cause any gas vapors in the cylinder may POP a time or two, blowing a little carbon and debris out the hole.

(Yeah, I KNOW there's a gas tank over the head, you'll have to lift/remove the hood. BE SAFE in that respect, and don't light the torch ''til any spilled gas and it's vapors have safely dissipated.)

FYI: The Ford OEM plug spec is for the Champion 14mm H10. Spark Plug threads are 14mm x 1.25mm pitch. If you need to chase the threads after you extract the broken plug be sure to use the correct tap. Removal Hint: Take your compressed air gun and blast out the plug wells before removing the spark plugs. That'll ensure most all debris is gone before you take plugs out and risk having the crud fall down inside. If plugs have been in for a while, spray some PB BLASTER in the wells before attempting to remove them. Use the original 01A-17017-B sparkplug wrench or a good 6-Point socket.

Ok guys I don't have an extractor tool the right size so I am off to find one. I will try the heat trick this afternoon and check back in tonight
