Spark plug Help for Case D

Good Evening,

I'm about to do a tune up on my 1951 case D and the service manual says to put an AC Delco AC85 spark plug in it. What spark plug would you recommend for my tractor that has the same or better heat range that is available?

Champion D16 is the plugs used in pretty much every tractor back then, Massey Harris , McCormick , Minneapolis , CAse them were working tractors back then. So nowadays you would need a hotter plug for just putzing around. Depends on what your using the tractor for.

If you have a Mag make sure you run a non resistor plug and solid core wires. I run Autolite 3116 which is a non resistor, if you have a distributor you can run a 386 or 388 which are resistor plugs.

My DC will not run good on champion plugs. Even dad said way back that it didn't like champion plugs and that has played out for me in the past. Haven't had any trouble with other brands that I remember.
