Spark Plug Wires

I need to replace the plug wires on my 1949 8N front mount 12 volt conversion. Would like to get a good set of wires for a change. I live out in the middle of nowhere and the closest place is an O'Rilies, or Bumper To Bumper auto parts store. What would be a good kind of wire to get? Is there any car or pickup wire that will work good on the tractor. Called a New Holand dealer and was told they only carry the cheaper sets. Any info will be most helpful. Thanks, fortyniner.

I would just order a set off the internet by the time you driver some where you have allready spent your money for shipping

you must have solid core NON resistor wires automotive wires will not work

O'Reilly's should have them but they are not all that good and you have to cut them to fit and put the ends on. BIG thing it to make sure they are the TRUE copper wire plug wires or you will have problems from the get go

I haven't been able to find ANY auto supply in my area that has anything except the RFI suppression/carbon impregnated fiber wires. If you find metal wires locally, please let us know where.

My local carquest produced a set out of stock. Just tell them it is for a four cylinder industrial gas engine. If they get nosey tell them it is in a skid steer.

Your mileage may vary

You are right on there old, as the wires that are on there now came from O'Rilies. JMOR, if I someway find a good set I will post it for all. Got to go get them today so I can get this thing all back together and get it and myself back to work. Thanks to all of you for your info. fortyniner.

I got a set at a tractor show from Brillman. Made to order to fit my NAA. They are stranded copper core wire. I watched him make them.

Call them if you don't see what you want.

Tractor Supply Co sells Copper Core if you're lucky enough to have one close by.
Seems like they're around $12-$15?

Finally found some copper core wires today. You have to put the end on them that goes to the dist cap. They are a very stiff wire so they may be a handfull to get through the tube with the other wires that go through there. It will be worth it anyway as they are the only copper cored wires I could find within a somewhat reasonable distance from where I live. None of the auto parts stores had them but was very willing to sell me a set of graphites that are suppose to be as good as the copper cores, ya right. Anyway, I found them at a New Holland dealer called S & H Farm Supply in Mt. Grove, Missouri. They also have stores in Rogersville, Missouri, and Lockwood, Missouri. Again, thanks to all for the info. fortyniner.
