spark plugs life

how long do spark plugs usually last in a decent running ford Jubilee or 8n tractor ? Mine are 2 years old, and i pulled them out the other day, and i think i will replace them, they all 4 did have some carbon built up on them. thanks, JIM

Jim........dunno, my first set AL437s lasted 12-yrs. As long as they don't carbon up from RICH carb adjust. Its the center post inside the ceramic insulation that wears the most. Look carefully, iff'n it gitts rounded corners, them sparkies ain't gonna jump. They like SHARP corners. Rounding corners is natural wear. That is what and why they sell "ignition files". You may haffta bend the electrode out for file clearance but try to keep the file and electrodes "square". Sparkie clearance is 0.025" with sharp corners. ......Dell

For about 9$ you can also get a plug sandblaster for your compressor tank. I got one, and it cleans up plugs easy and fast. it can be had from harbor freight.. and comes with a small bag of media.. flip the extra couple bucks and buy more media.. works better...

Day i bought it i re0habbed a whole coffee can full of used plugs.. probably paid for itself right there.

I think Hrbor Freight sells junk; period.I sick of giving China my money for poorly manufacturd products. Ive got more to say about this but I won't.
