Spool Valve on MF165

I have a 72' MF165D that I'm wanting to add a single auxiliary spool valve to. I purchased a take off valve from a tractor
salvage yard (valve is shown in attached pictures) that was supposed to come off a 165. The valve appears to match the single
spool valve shown in the MF manual 690562M3 Basic & Auxiliary Hydraulic Systems for MF 130 Thru MF 180 Tractors.

My issue is that the bolts that hold the hydraulic cover are to large in diameter to go through the mounting holes on the valve
that I have. It's close, but they will not go through without messing up the threads. The holes step down inside (see
pictures).

Wondering if I have the correct valve for the tractor.

THe holes on my 65 were for 7/16 ( I think) Allen cap screws.. I don't see why you couldn't open up the holes a little. Be careful and make sure you use a drill that has been sharpened to drill cast iron.

The control valve is a two spool no. 677-421. It is a direct bolt up. I have one on my 165. The bolts are 7/16-16. From the looks of the cover that you had removed it appears that that it may have been drilled out larger. And 1/2" bolts used. I would check the hydraulic cover to see if that will accept the 7/16 bolts. It could be possible that it was tapped to take the 1/2 at sometime. If that is the case you could drill out the the control valve as previously stated.
That control valve used used as an accessory on the 100 and 200 seires tractors in my personal experience and probably the earlier ones as well.

Thanks for identifying which valve I have. I'll check the bolt size. I purchased new bolts from a MF dealer and they matched what was on the tractor.
