Spray paint can adaptor

Not from Iceland!
There's a discussion about spray paint and trains, can't say I know what that's about. But when I've painted large areas with rattle cans my finger gets tired after a short time. I found this item on Harbor Freight's site, was wondering if anyone has used it or something similar. I'd buy it just to have around if it works, not that I have any big projects in mind. But you never know.

I'll put one on my shopping list for the occasional small parts I paint. Didn't know such a thing existed until today. I can't justify having a big paint setup for what I do. Anything I build is probably from junk and scrap steel so putting a nice coat of paint on is like putting "lipstick on a pig," as the expression goes.

I had three of them some 35 years ago . They eventually wore out one by one and I've not seen the like since . Just yesterday as I was primeing some decorative wrought iron I lamented not having one any more. I'm glad to know they are still available .

I did that too and lo and behold, the rattle can mfgrs. where I shopped, changed the design and the holder doesn't work......pffffffffft on them.

They collect a bit of overspray, and then drip right on the perfect finish.. .screwing up the whole surface. Everytime. But if you dont care about a blob, drop, run, or other visible defect, they work.... okay. After about 5 or 8 cans they tend to weakning and start dropping the can is some cases.. Can also result in getting a bit close as your not used to the handle setback, and thus get runs. I give them a 4 out of 10.

Wow...the one I got doesn't seem to exhibit any of those flaws you mentioned above. What did you do to yours? Some people could just screw up a soup sandwich.

I have a couple of similar ones in my shop. They work great, even for small jobs with a rattle can.

im partial to them if whats bein coughed out the can is compatible... this one has worked generally well

you gotta make sure the nozzle underneath taint rotated into the accessory body though else you sprayin miserably
you gotta check on that nozzle it likes to wander...

Since this paint thing has run its course, I’ll go with the “soup sandwich” comment. My understanding is that a soup sandwich is something that’s horribly botched and can’t be fixed no matter what. One tall and very expensive example of a soup sandwich is in NYC. It’s at 161 Maiden Lane and was built with some questionable site prep so that it now leans about three inches and can’t be occupied. Adding to its many problems is the fact that a homeless person ran the pump for the fire suppression system to keep warm. Since there was no water, it burned up the pump. Anyway, I’m sure there are other problems associated with the tower and as far as I know it stands unoccupied and the source of many lawsuits. A classic “soup sandwich.” Glad I got that off my chest.
