sprayer hose size

just got an old pull behind sprayer to use in my pasture and it has not hoses on it for the nozzles. i have some 1/4 inch hose laying around but wonder if thats big enough. what would be "normal" size hosing for one of these?

I use 1/2 inch hose between nozzles on my sprayer (36ft. boom width). A smaller size such as 3/8 inch or 1/4 inch will work, but you will have to run at higher pressures to put out the same volume of spray solution.
