Sprayer winterization

What's the proper or preferred way to winterize a boom sprayer? I've heard of using vegetable oil, windshield wiper solvent and a host of others. Suggestions are welcome.

I agree with plowman, RV antifreeze.

If it doesn't hurt RV pumps and seals it's not gonna hurt sprayer pumps and valves.

I dump in 2 gallon and spray it out. Then I repeat with another 2 gallons.

Cheap insurance.

I use regular anti-reeze 50/50 premix. Spendy, yes but it has anti-corrosion additives. Next spring there isn't a hint of rust/corrosion anywhere. Costs close to $100 but it's a $30,000 sprayer. Jim

I use straight RV antifreeze. i dump a gallon into the sprayer tank (I clean out all the chemical residue first) and start the pump to circulate the suff through all the lines and nozzles.

I drain everything(leave the plugs out);pull the pump and fill with oil;remove the nozzles/screens;remove the filters.never had a ploblem.
